“Forest Pansy” - Unlike other ‘Redbuds’, the ‘Forest Pansy’ produces a wine coloured purple leaf in springtime after the tiny, rose-purple, pea-like flowers appear; remaining for 2-3 weeks in March and April. Then the heart-shaped leaves emerge as a glossy, vibrant ruby red and darken to a rich purple-plum shade for the summer. In autumn they turn varied shades of orange, red, yellow & purple. The autumn sun makes some leaves appear to be translucent whilst others reflect the light.
